The rack of BITO Drive-in allows extremely compact storage of pallets in multiple horizontally and vertically positioned aisles. The forklift enters the aisle and places the pallets back to front, on the storage rails that are positioned end to end on the racks. This ensures optimum use of floor space and storage space.
Drive-in pallet racks are particularly suitable for storing large volumes of pallets of the same item, for pressure-sensitive or unstable goods, for small to medium-sized products, and for low-turnover goods. This racking system is ideal for seasonal or buffer storage, as well as for storing products with a long shelf life.
Goods are stored and removed using a front-end loader that moves inside the corridor. Goods are always loaded and unloaded on the same side. Operating under the LIFO (last in, first out) principle, the last pallet stocked is the first pallet picked. This system should therefore only be used for the storage of goods where direct access to specific pallets is not required.
Compared to BITO Drive-in pallet racking, the BITO Drive-through racking system has the same advantages - but can be used on both sides. The goods are stacked on one side and withdrawn on the other. Acting on the FIFO principle (first in, first out), the first stacked pallet will be the first to be removed.
